I am
posting today as a guest designer for Craft It Up & Link It Up Linky
Party hosted by Tara of Craftin Desert Divas! Every other Monday will
mark the beginning of a new semi-weekly linky party and you could win fabulous
prizes!!
This linky party theme is
Peacock Hues.
The sponsor is Pinque Peacock.
The more you link up, the
better chance you have to win. Visit Craftin
Desert Divas for all the rules and to play along.
Here is what I created for
this linky party....
For
my project, I created a canvas sign! I
started with the two darkest hues underneath….I felt they were a little
overpowering for my décor. I swiped them
in 3 equal areas using a drybrush technique.
Once dry, I applied a crackle medium.
Once that was dry, I applied the other 3 hues, a teal, light blue and
light purple, also using a dry brush technique, but alternating and combining the
colors so as to not to be too harsh.
Once they were dry and crackled, with the dark purple and dark green
coming thru…I cut black vinyl in the phrase, “Keep Calm & shake your
tailfeathers”. That basically
means…”Chill out and shake yo’ ass”…shake that ass fo’ me”. (inside joke!) As it would happen…all of my bathrooms are
that beautiful teal color, so I have a reminder to my guests to “Shake ‘dat
ass” ummm, “tailfeather”. Once the vinyl
was applied, I finished it with a black and silver mesh ribbon and some silver
nailhead bling mesh cut to one row. I
have to say….I LOOOOVVVVEEEE IT! It adds
a little of my crafty self (and sass!!!) to a very forgotten room of our home!
Hope you will Craft It Up
& Link It Up!!!
